First Hair Cut!

Zachary had his 1st hair cut on January 29th.  Although this post is long overdue, I wanted to share it anyways!  He's had another trim since then and he does very well in the stylist's chair!
 We got our capes on.

 He was very well behaved!

He did want to see what was going on though!

 Such a handsome little man!

We got his First Hair Cut certificate for his Baby Book!

A Collection

We have quite a collection at our house of sippy cups.  We have been offering various sippy cups to Zachary for a few months now and he just wasn't into them.  It didn't matter what was in them.  (Water, Diluted Juice, Formula, or Milk)  It didn't matter if the spout was soft or hard.  He just didn't want anything to do with them.  He LOVED his bottle a lot.........more than we ever knew, until we tried to take it away.

It was a bit rough, but Zachary is now going on day 4 of being 100% bottle free!  We are so proud!

Here is our collection of sippy cups.
(We actually have more because some styles came in two-packs!)

The winners!  The Playtex insulated sippy cup and the Take and Toss cup with a straw.

Zachary's 1st Birthday Party!

We were lucky enough to have gorgeous California weather last Sunday for Zachary's big party.
The party was held at an adorable little park in Tustin called Pioneer Road Park
Many of the Mommies and Daddies there commented about what a great park it was and how clean it was.
(It has a fun playground for all ages and a nice covered log cabin-looking area where the picnic tables are.)

I decided on a Western/Red Bandana Theme and I had a lot of fun searching for items to use for the party.
(Dollar Tree and Oriental Trading Company were awesome!)

Here are just a few shots of the decor:

My friend Heather made a perfect banner for the occasion!
(Check out her crafty skills at Paper Princess Studios!)

Heather also made the cute birthday hat to match everything!

I found these cupcake toppers on Etsy.com!
(I bought them from The Green Grass Grows shop)

I also ordered this shirt for Zachary from Etsy!
(It was from the Sew Seamingly Sassy shop!)

Zachary is lucky to have so many wonderful family and friends that shared in his 1st Birthday celebration!

As you can see, it really was a GREAT day!

Zachary and Sam took a ride before the guests arrived!

Nana Edmisten got him a real cowboy hat and some toy guns!

All of Zachary's cousins were there!

The slides at this park are huge!
Daddy took Zachary down the really big slide.......

and Mommy took him down the smaller slide!

He loved the cake and was very gentle with it at first.

Mommy showed him how to get past the frosting.

He could've sat there eating it for hours I think!

Such a special day for all of us!
(Thanks to Sara Cooper for taking such amazing pictures!)
Check out her photography blog My Life Behind the Camera!

Zachary wanted to share some cake with Pop-Pop!

He did share some with Joey's friend Pete!

He cleaned up nicely after the cake!

What a HAPPY, HAPPY day!

Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate Zachary's special day!

And His Name Is.........

***Here is another old post I just found that I never published!  I was having issues with my FLIP video and just gave up!  Now it's working so I thought I would share!***

During my pregnancy, we kept Zachary's name a secret. We didn't want to hear people's opinions on the name we had chosen. It was actually pretty fun!

This video is from the day Zachary was born. It was the moment that Joey walked out of the operating room and Zachary's name was revealed.  It's fun to see people's reactions. Starring in the video are: Joey, Joey's mom (Gerri), Joey's Dad (Gary), my Mom (Linda), and our Sister-in-Law (Tammie). Special thanks to Uncle Bob (My brother) for the camera work.

This Time Last Year.......

This time last year..............
Zachary was exactly ONE WEEK OLD!
It was his First St. Patrick's Day!

(I plan on doing more posts like this!)

I just found this!

***I was looking at some old posts and found this post as a draft!  I guess I wrote it last June and never actually posted it!***

Now that I figured out how to post video clips from my FLIP video camera, I thought I would post this video of Zachary from early May. His little facial expressions are too cute!  Be sure to watch the entire video!  It has a fantastic ending!!  ;)

Starting a Tradition

On Thursday night for Zachary's Birthday, we went to Disneyland.
I am hoping it is something we can do every year on Zachary's Birthday.

We were only there for a few hours to have dinner and go on a few rides, but it was a nice way to celebrate Zachary's special day!

We rode the Monorail into Tomorrowland from Downtown Disney!

We ate dinner at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port.
He sure doesn't look like a baby anymore!

He got his first "sweet treat," a brownie at dinner!

Of course he LOVED the brownie!

What a great tradition!

(Special thanks to Zachary's Auntie Tammie for the Birthday Boy shirt!)
