Tracy's Favorite Things- Mommy Edition

I feel like most of my Favorite Things posts lately have been "Mommy" things, but I have found SO many products that I LOVE using with Zachary that I just must share them all! (I promise to do more non-Mommy posts soon! Christmas is quickly approaching and I have some great gifts ideas to share!!)

I registered for and was given the Coldplay lullaby CD at my Baby Shower. I started listening to it before Zachary arrived while I was "nesting." I played it while I worked on organizing his room and folding all his new clothes.

After Zachary arrived we played it at night sometimes while I was feeding him. I don't know if it helped him to relax at all, but it really helped me!

A few weeks after Zachary was born, my awesome Mom found a GREAT deal on more CDs by the same company! (She got 2 CDs for $15 at Babysteals.com!)

She bought us:

U2

Bob Marley

The Beatles

Queen

I enjoy all of these, but Coldplay and Bob Marley are my favorites! (The Bob Marley one reminds me of my honeymoon in Jamaica!)

They have many more to choose from on the Rock-a-Bye Baby Website! I would love to get Guns 'N Roses, Metallica, and No Doubt sometime soon!

I think they make GREAT Baby Shower gifts!

Do any of you have any of these CDs?

Tracy's Favorite Things - Mommy Edition!

Before Zachary was ever born, I remember my fabulous hair stylist, Nikki, talking about a European baby food maker that she saw at Williams Sonoma. I was curious and I looked it up online and then went to see it in person at the store. I wanted it BAD! I kept hinting to my mom that I REALLY wanted it, but I honestly thought she was thinking it was just a gadget I didn't need.

Well, my mom is awesome and she got it for my for my baby shower in January! (Pardon my expression in the pictures! I was SO excited about it and had to explain it to everyone there!)

I am now using it and I am in LOVE with it! It's the Babycook by Beaba. It does it all! It steams fruit and veggies in 15 minutes or less and it also purees them right after that.........all in a CUTE little size that takes up very little counter space!

If you know me, you know I don't how how to cook. So far all the food Zachary has had has been made by me! I know that if I had to take out separate pots to steam or cook things and then take out the food processor and clean it all up, I would just give up and buy store bought food.

I freeze the food into little cubes and I'm shocked at how much food I can make from the veggies I buy! Less than one half of a butternut squash (boughtfor $1.59 at the grocery store) makes 12 cubes of food! (Zachary eats 1-2 cubes at a time)

Here are some pictures of the first time I used it! I had only one carrot in the fridge, so that's why I only got 3 cubes out of it! Usually I can make 10-14 (or more) cubes from the fruit and veggies I use.

I REALLY love my Babycook..........can you tell? :)
Step One: Steam Carrots

Step Two: Puree Carrots

Step Three: Freeze them in Ice Cube Trays

Here is my stash that I have in the freezer right now!

Six Months Old!

HAPPY HALF-BIRTHDAY ZACHARY!

Last Friday, September 10th, Zachary turned 6 months old! It's amazing that he is already been around for half a year!

He went to his 6 month appointment and weighed in at 17 pounds 1 ounce and measured 26 inches. He is in the 50th percentile in both areas! The Doctor said he is a healthy boy!

-He is moving around everywhere! He's crawling and scooting and getting to where he wants to! Watch out world!

-We have had to lower his crib 2 times this week because he grabbed the side and stood up!! It is now on the lowest height!

-He sits up by himself when we put him on his bottom, and he is close to being able to go from a crawling to sitting position on his own!

-He is a GREAT eater! He loves all the food I've been making him! So far he has eaten: rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, avocado, butternut squash, peas, pears, apples, and bananas!

-I survived taking him to day care! The ladies there love him and he seems to like being around other kids. (I only shed a few tears the first day I dropped him off!)

-He "talks" a lot. (Talks=Screaming!) He likes to smile and "talk" to everyone he meets. We are often told that he is a happy baby, and I totally agree.

-He doesn't have any teeth yet, but I have a feeling it'll be happening soon! He's a drooling machine!

-This month he got a high chair (Thanks Nana Bintliff!!) and a walker (Thanks Auntie Tammie!). He is amazing in the walker! He steers it around corners so that he can look out the back door at our 2 dogs. He smiles and "talks" to them too!

Overall it's been a busy month with Joey and I both going back to work, but Zachary is such a joy to be around! It's nice to see his smiling face after a day of work! The drive from work to day care seems SO long sometimes!

Here are some highlights of this month:

Zachary hung out on the field at Angel Stadium

He put his feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time!

He enjoyed the homemade carrot baby food made by Mommy!

He found the laundry basket!

He sat in his new high chair!

This must be his "I'm hungry" face!

What a happy boy!

(Thanks Anita!)

Beach Day!

All Summer I had been telling Joey, "All I ask this Summer is to go to the beach ONE time!" Well, we went.....on the Friday before we both had to return to work! We barely squeezed the trip in, but I'm so glad we did!

We ended up at Little Corona del Mar beach with our little group consisting of: Joey, Zachary, Joey's Mom, our nephew Sam, and I. We only stayed a few hours, but we had a great day!

I can't wait to go back next Summer when Zachary is old enough to play in the sand....and probably try to eat some!

Tracy's Favorite Things -Mommy Edition

This could be the BEST Favorite Things post so far for all of my Mommy friends who still have little ones in diapers.

The last 3 boxes of diapers I bought were from Amazon.com!

They were running a special: 30% off and Free 2 day shipping! (Plus, Amazon.com doesn't charge sales tax, so for my CA friends, that is almost 9% more of a discount!!)

The only catch was that I had to sigh up for the "Subscribe and Save" program. It's like an auto-delivery of diapers. You can tell them how many and how often you want them shipped. (Or you can sign up, get the discount, and cancel after it ships!! Hee hee!)

ANYWAYS.......now, Amazon.com has started Amazon MOM. The 30% off diapers and wipes is now ALL THE TIME! (You still have to sign up for the "Subscribe and Save," but you can cancel or change it anytime!!) You also still get the free 2 day shipping and no sales tax!

I got over 400 Pampers Baby Dry diapers delivered to my doorstep for $50!!! That's insane!!

So Mommies......sign up NOW! It's awesome and will save you a load of money! (Plus you never have to go to the store for diapers, or wipes again!)
